Born Inside Report Launch by BSWG
The Birth Support Working Group, an interdisciplinary collaboration including people with lived experience, clinicians, advocates, and doulas, has been learning from the experiences of folks who gave birth while incarcerated in NY. The Born Inside Report, summarizes the findings from conversations with formerly incarcerated women and provides recommendations for doulas and healthcare providers working with incarcerated birthing people.
We would like to offer our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended the Born Inside launch event at Elmhurst Hospital. It was our pleasure to share this work with you, and we hope you will share the report widely within your networks! Thank you also for supporting and honoring our Growing Hope doulas, who work hard to care for birthing people impacted by the criminal legal system and housing insecurity. As they say, "it takes a village," and we appreciate you, our community, for being that village.
