The HOPE team was honored to present at March of Dimes 2022 Mom and Baby Action Network (MBAN) Summit: Igniting Impact Together: Birthing Equitable Communities. In the session “A Doula’s Impact: Engaging and Strengthening Community,” The HOPE team’s presentation highlighted how the program provides continuous, community-based doula support grounded in lived experience and deep neighborhood partnership. We emphasized our unique strength that comes from our Community Action Board (CAB), a 110-member body of Queens birthing people, doulas, community-based organizations, hospital partners, NYC DOHMH staff, and funders that guides our program’s design, implementation, and evaluation. Together we can strengthen trust, improve birth experiences, and address long-standing maternal health inequities across Queens, NYC.
